I participated in an Ambassador Program on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Brancott Estate Wines. I received product samples to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation.
Up until just a few years ago, my experience with wine was pretty much limited to Sunday Communion and that cheap strawberry "wine" that my sorority sisters and I shared in college.
These days, I still don't consider myself a wine connoisseur, by any means. Choosing a bottle of wine to bring home can be a bit daunting, and I'm still somewhat subject to choosing a wine based on pretty packaging... But I'm also not afraid to try something new, and more importantly, over the years, I've learned what I like in a wine -- and I really like the new Flight Song wines from Brancott Estate.
If you like a light and refreshing white wine, I think you'll love the Brancott Estate Flight Song Wines, as well. Bottled in New Zealand, the Flight Song vintages are a new offering by Brancott Estate this year.
Available in Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Grigio, the grapes for the Flight Song vintages are harvested earlier than other wines, resulting in a wine that's naturally 20% lower in calories than other wines, while still retaining the flavor and complexity. Clocking in at right around 87 calories per glass, you can indulge in this light, crisp and refreshing wine while counting calories!
I invited a fellow wine-loving friend over to try both the Flight Song Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Grigio with me. While both are very good white wines, we both preferred the citrusy and fresh-tasting Pinot Grigio. If you prefer a wine that has a bit more of a floral note, you'll probably enjoy the Sauvignon Blanc, which has a hint of sweet snow pea. I can't wait to share these wines with other friends on a hot summer night!
