Cupcake picks are a fantastic way to “dress up” a basic cupcake, but I often have trouble finding just the right design. My solution? I just make my own!
Yeah, yeah, I know you’re probably thinking that I have way too much time on my hands, but when you utilize photo stickers you can create cute custom cupcake picks, like those shown on my Halloween cupcakes, in no time flat.
Custom photo stickers from Walmart.com
Mini craft sticks
Upload the image of your choice to your Walmart Photo account to create the photo stickers you’d like to use for your picks. I created these Boo and Trick or Treat images that you can use, but you could also choose images of your children in their costumes, etc.
You can choose to have your stickers mailed to you, or you can select to pick them up at your local store, which is a great option to save on shipping, especially if you need to pick up the mini craft sticks as well.
Here’s what my stickers looked like when I received them.
Creating the cupcake picks is super simple from here. Just peel off one sticker and lay it face down on the table. Center a mini craft stick over it and press down firmly so the stick adheres to the sticker.
Then peel off a second sticker and place it sticky side down on top of the craft stick. Press the two stickers together to seal the craft stick inside.
Repeat the process to make your desired number of cupcake picks. Aren’t they cute?
Get the kids involved and have them help you assemble the picks. Since there’s no glue involved, there’s virtually no mess to clean up at the end. And they’ll love to help decorate cupcakes with their very own custom cupcake picks!
