Though we've been seeing some cooler weather lately, I'm always loathe to give up my summer makeup palette. Summer is my favorite season, and I adore the bright pinks and corals that always go hand-in-hand with the warmer weather.
However, I was pleasantly surprised, when checking out the fall makeup trends, to see that many of the looks slated to be popular this year, lend themselves to a smooth transition between the seasons. So I thought I'd share three of my favorite fall makeup trends that will take from summer to fall with ease!
Three Of My Favorite Fall Makeup Trends
Berry Lips & Nails
Darker lip colors always seem to be popular in the fall months, and this year is no exception. Berry shades are all the rage, with a sheerer application than we've seen in recent years -- which totally makes up happy, because deep lipsticks on my full lips just always make me look as if I'm trying too hard.
I picked up this L'Oreal Paris Colour Riche Glossy Lip Balm in Baby Berry, and it's a gorgeous, shiny berry shade that is perfect for transitioning from summer to fall.
On my nails, I've been wearing Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Nail Color in Wine Not. I've mentioned before that Complete Salon Manicure polishes are my fave, and this beautiful, deep wine shade is no exception!
I'm loving the flushed cheeks that were all over the runways recently. In the summer months, I tend to use more bronzer and less blush with my sun-kissed skin, but I can always use a little extra color in the cooler months, so this is a welcome change.
I snagged this L'Oreal Paris Visible Lift Blur Blush in Soft Pink, a name that describes it perfectly. Bright blush can be a bit difficult to blend, but this formulation smooths out easily for a pretty, natural-looking finish.
I was a little skeptical about the bronze eyeshadow trend. I've found that it can sometimes make your eyes look a little red and tired, but then I spied this L'Oreal Paris Infallible Eye Shadow in Bronze Taupe at Walmart, and I fell in love. The taupe tones down the bronze, making it a very wearable shade for all skin tones, and this particular shadow starts out sheer but is very buildable.
A wash of this shadow on the entire lid, going just a little deeper in the crease and outer corners of your eyes, makes for a dramatic, yet very simple eye look. I finish it off by stamping my favorite CoverGirl liquid liner on my upper lash line and then adding a coat of mascara.
