Eggs Don’t Stick! // GreenLife Healthy Ceramic Non-Stick Cookware

GreenLife Ceramic Non-Stick Pan

It's been quite awhile since I've owned any true non-stick cookware... We dumped all of our teflon-coated pans about 5 years ago after reading about the dangers of breathing in the toxic fumes they can give off when overheated (and even when not overheated).

I've tried ceramic non-stick cookware in the past and been underwhelmed with its durability. While the non-stick finish performed fantastically, it scratched within a week of purchase, even though I was ultra careful in my handling and choice of utensils.

I had the opportunity to try out a GreenLife Ceramic Non-Stick Fry Pan a few months ago, and I was completely smitten. I'll admit the gorgeous retro turquoise shade was what first drew me in, but the performance and durability were what ultimately won me over. (And if you're not a fan of turquoise, the line also comes in red and black!)

I spoke with some of the reps for GreenLife, and I specifically asked them about the durability of their ceramic coating. They assured me that the Thermolon ceramic non-stick coating is designed to hold up very well under normal use. Of course you'll want to avoid using metal utensils on the non-stick surface, but I've used mine for about a month now, and the surface is still pristine!

I thought I'd demonstrate just how effective this coating is by putting my new GreenLife Healthy Ceramic Non-Stick Fry Pan to the ultimate cooking test -- a fried egg. Though GreenLife does recommend using a small amount of oil when frying foods in their pans (after all, it's not really frying without oil), I chose not to use any oil at all to demonstrate just how amazing the Thermolon ceramic non-stick coating is.

As you can see, my egg didn't stick -- not even a tiny bit! This couple with the fact that these pans are dishwasher safe, make them a big winner in my book.

You're probably wondering how much these pans cost... The GreenLife Fry Pan that I tested is available through Walmart online and in stores for $24.98, but the real value is in the 14-pc. GreenLife cookware set which retails for $79.92, including a set of four nylon utensils! If you like to bake, you'll also want to check out the line of GreenLife Bakeware that boasts the same durable non-stick ceramic coating.
