I have a tendency to wreck shop in the kitchen when I'm cooking. Oh, you don't believe me? A recent Instagram photo shows just how bad it can get:
And actually sometimes it's much worse... Luckily I have five kids that I can enlist to help me clean up!
Knowing that my children would be using many of the cleaning products in our home prompted me to take a closer look at the products we were using. With the ready availability of eco-friendly and greener cleaning products available these days, it seemed like a simple enough switch.
I've tried many different brands over the years, but the brand I keep coming back to is Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day. Mrs. Meyer's products are ammonia-, chlorine bleach-, paraben- and phosphate-free. They're also cruelty-free and not tested on animals, and the bottles are recyclable and made of at least 25% post-consumer recycled content.
And what's more -- they smell divine!!! Basil, geranium, honeysuckle, and lemon verbena are just a few of the scents. However, I'm partial to the lavender. And before you go thinking that my house must smell like a little old lady that got a tad too liberal with the perfume, it's the most fantastically light and refreshing scent that I would akin more to apples. I highly recommend it!
Just another thing that I adore about Mrs. Meyer's products is the packaging. It's pretty enough to leave the hand soap and dish soap sitting out on the sinks, and I love the little tips that included on each label, particularly this one about saving money by refilling your countertop spray with diluted all purpose cleaner. You know I'm all about saving money!
I was excited to give their laundry detergent and fabric softener a try. I'll admit I've always been partial to Tide for laundry, but I washed up my girls gymnastics leotards with the Mrs. Meyer's laundry detergent and they were beautifully clean and soft and smelled so good. This product is so concentrated that just a single tablespoon washes an entire load!
If you haven't tried these wonderful products, you can now find ten products available at your local Walmart store and over 50 products available online. And yes, Mrs. Meyer's did send me a box of their cleaning products to try for this post, but this is a brand that I was already using and love, love, LOVE!
Have you tried Mrs. Meyer's cleaning products? If so, what's your favorite scent?
