Thanksgiving Appetizers with Great Value Crescent Rolls

Great Value Crescent Roll Appetizers

Thanksgiving dinner in our home looks pretty much the same year after after. We have our tried and true favorites that we look forward to every year. But one thing I've always felt was lacking were some simple and easy appetizers to munch on while we're waiting for the main course to be finished...

So prompted by a fun partnership with The Motherhood and Ralcorp, I sat down and put together three appetizer recipes, each highlighting traditional Thanksgiving flavors that all start with Great Value crescent rolls (priced at just $1.78 each!): Spicy Walnut Brie Tarts, Cranberry Blue Cheese Pinwheels, and Sweet Potato Pecan Bundles.

If you're not familiar with Ralcorp, they're the company that distributes Great Value frozen dough products through Walmart, Publix, and others. I'm thrilled to be working with them over the next several holidays to develop some delicious, budget-friendly recipes, starting with these Thanksgiving appetizers!

Now, if there's one thing I've learned over the years, it's never to make a recipe for the first time when you have guests coming over. Always, always, ALWAYS (I cannot stress this enough) give it a trial run at least once before the big day! So my kids and I will be having a little baking party this weekend to perfect our appetizers.

If you'd like to bake along, here are the ingredients we picked up at Walmart, minus a few pantry staples I already have on hand:

Spicy Walnut Brie Tarts

1 can Great Value crescent rolls
Brie cheese round (8-oz.)
red pepper jelly
chopped walnuts

Cranberry Blue Cheese Pinwheels

1 can Great Value crescent rolls
blue cheese
whole cranberry sauce

Sweet Potato Casserole Bundles

1 can Great Value crescent rolls
sweet potatoes
brown sugar
vanilla extract
cayenne pepper

The only other item you may need is a mini muffin pan for the tarts if you don't already have one. If you're doing your shopping at Walmart, you should be able to purchase one for under $6.

Stay tuned for the results of our baking party, as well as step-by-step recipes for each of these tasty appetizers!

Disclosure: I received compensation from Ralcorp and The Motherhood for the time and effort spent creating this post. However, my participation in this program is voluntary and my opinions are my own -- always have been, always will be.
