Happy New Year! I don't know about you all, but I'm ready for this winter break to be over. I think we've had more snow over the past two weeks than we've had over the past two years combined! And as much as I love a white Christmas, I don't love having my kids cooped up inside for days on end... It's been a very LOUD and rowdy few weeks around here, and a little more routine will do us all some good.
I've got big plans for organizing and decluttering (both in real life and online here), as well as a few DIY projects to attempt, but in the meantime, I thought you might like to revisit a few of the of the most viewed posts of 2012:

{10} I figured there were plenty of homemade pumpkin puree tutorials online already, but I took a chance and posted mine, so imagine my surprise when it clocked in at number ten on my most-trafficked posts this year!

{9} My mom's spaghetti pie recipe has always been a family favorite. Kids go crazy over the spaghetti noodle "crust" layered with cottage cheese, Italian sausage tomato sauce, and gooey mozzarella cheese!

{8} I love a good salad, especially after all of the sweets and other calorie-rich foods we consume over the holiday season. This apple pecan chicken salad is definitely a favorite!

{7} I try to make my own homemade spice mixes whenever possible, like this homemade taco seasoning. I was thrilled to see so many of you are interested in giving it a try too!

{6} I'm so glad I found that box of old baby food jars when we were moving. Theses chalk paint spice jars make keeping my spices organized a pinch!

{5} In case you haven't noticed, I have a strong tendency toward classic recipes -- and this recipe for sugar cookies is no exception! Love these for their buttery, just-sweet-enough flavor and tender yet chewy texture!

{4} I'm not sure if this really qualifies as a recipe, but I love that so many of you are interested in learning how to make homemade butter! If nothing else, it's a fun project to try with the kids.

{3} I guess you guys are fed up with shelling out good money for frozen PB&J sandwiches too. Learn how to make your own homemade uncrustables sandwiches!

{2} While searches definitely increase as the weekend gets closer, I'm always amazed at how many people come to my site searching for a good strawberry daiquiri recipe even on weekdays. I promise it really is the best I've ever had!
Annnnddddd the most popular Unsophisticook post of 2012 is...

My creamed corn casserole! I only posted this corn casserole recipe as an afterthought side dish for our Labor Day cookout, but with over 92,000 pins and counting (wow, huh?), apparently I hit on something big! Give it a try -- you won't be sorry.
Hope you enjoyed this little look back, and here's to a fantastic 2013!

What a great 2012! Love the spice jars, I am in need of organization for mine. The corn sounds like a great side dish – can’t believe I haven’t found that on Pinterest yet!
