Tired of trying to do it all as a blogger? Try the CoSchedule Marketing Calendar and you’ll be amazed at the time savings it provides. Sharing my favorite features in my honest CoSchedule review…
I don’t talk much about the actual business of blogging here on Unsophisticook. I know most of you are just here for the FOOD, and I’m fine with that. :) But I know there’s a handful of you that are bloggers in some capacity, and this new blogging tool I’ve been using is just too good not to share…
My Honest CoSchedule Review
Okay, let me reframe that — CoSchedule is actually not a NEW blogging tool. It’s been around for awhile now, and I did try it once previously. I liked it well enough, but the pricing structure was a bit higher back then, and I felt like I needed to try some other options before committing. I always want to make sure I’m spending my dollars wisely when investing in my site. You know?
So I tried several other popular options over the past year… And while most of them were cheaper, there always seemed to be a key feature missing. When I noticed that CoSchedule revamped their plans, I decided to sign up for their FREE 2-week trial and give them another shot.
So What Is CoSchedule?
Basically, CoSchedule is a social media scheduling tool that can be integrated with the WordPress platform. When you create a new post, you can schedule out all of your social shares right at the bottom of the post page and continue to share indefinitely using their ReQueue feature.
I’m not going to go into super granular detail, because CoSchedule has a wonderful getting started tutorial that will get you up and running in no time, but here are the top five reasons why I’m sticking with CoSchedule over all of the others.
1| Social media scheduling in bulk — not only can you schedule all of your shares for new and old posts right from the blog post page inside WordPress, but you can also create one-off campaigns. This is super helpful when a brand wants you to create a series of social-only shares for them.
2| Calendar overview of all scheduled shares — you can also view a calendar overview of all your scheduled shares within WordPress. It has drag-and-drop capabilities, so you can easily move posts around if your calendar looks a little heavy on a particular day or reschedule them altogether for a later date.
3| Social helpers make creating shares quick and easy — setting up this feature take a bit of time, but once you get it tweaked well, you’ll be amazed. I can schedule all of my social promotion based on a predetermined formula in under five minutes. It’s a total timesaver!
4| Track your engagement in one interface — it’s easy to see how much engagement your social shares are receiving both at the post level and at the calendar level. Plus you can grab your social share links from within WordPress to share with brands.
5| Reshare your best posts with ReQueue — you’ll never have to manually find the best posts to reshare with your followers. When you activate the ReQueue feature, it will automatically reschedule your best shares based on frequency settings you can control. Any gaps in your calendar will be filled with these posts to keep the promotion going indefinitely.
There are numerous other features that I haven’t even had a chance to really try yet. I’m most excited about the Task Lists — I’m planning to use this to create a loose post creation formula, from start to finish, so I don’t forget certain things for SEO. I can see it also being helpful for adding specific items a brand requests for a sponsored post, i.e. 3 links, 4 photos, 500 word minimum, etc. If you have a VA or a team working with you, it would also be ideal for collaboration.
Final Thoughts on CoSchedule
For me, CoSchedule is worth every penny. Social media is not my strength, so being able to pre-schedule everything to coincide with a new recipe being published is a blogging lifesaver. But I don’t want you to just take my word for it. Sign up for the FREE 2-week CoSchedule trial and check it all out for yourself. There’s no credit card required, so you have absolutely nothing to lose.
But do me one favor? Don’t sign up until you have a couple of hours to sit down and create a custom social sharing plan using the social helpers function. It’s the single most time-saving feature, and you will simply be amazed at how quickly you can schedule your blog post promotion once it’s in place. I want you to get the most out of your CoSchedule trial period!
