These spicy walnut brie tarts are another fantastic quick and easy holiday appetizer. Starting with crescent roll dough, these little tarts pack a lot of flavor and can be ready to serve in about 20 minutes.
At the grocery store you’ll just need to pick up crescent roll dough (consider Great Value brand priced at just $1.78!), an 8-oz. round of brie cheese, chopped walnuts, and red pepper jelly. If you’re not a fan of the bit of added heat that the red pepper jelly gives, you could easily substitute your favorite jam, jelly or chutney.
Unroll your crescent dough, and seal the perforations by pressing them together. Use a pizza cutter or sharp knife to slice the dough into 18 squares. Press each square into a mini muffin tin cup.
Cut the rind off the brie cheese with a sharp knife and slice into small chunks. Place a chunk inside the dough in each muffin cup and top with 1/4 teaspoon red pepper jelly. Sprinkle with chopped walnuts and bake for about 13 minutes or until golden brown.
You’ll have plenty of red pepper jelly and walnuts left over, so if you want to make more than 18 appetizers, you’ll just need to purchase additional cans of crescent roll dough and possibly more brie cheese, depending on how large you cut your chunks.
