Classic Homemade Applesauce

Ingredients

  • 4 lbs. apples of your choice (approx. 13 medium apples)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Core, peel (optional), and cut the apples into chunks.
  2. Place apples and the rest of the ingredients in a large pot.
  3. Bring to a boil. Then cover and simmer for 20 to 30 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat. Blend with an immersion blender or puree in batches in a food processor.
