Total Time 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1-2 tablespoons brown sugar, maple syrup, or honey (optional)

Instructions

  1. Add the balsamic vinegar into a small saucepan. Stir in optional sweetener as desired.
  2. Bring the balsamic reduction mixture to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 10-15 minutes, ornuntil the balsamic reduces to a syrup that easily coats the back of a spoon. Watch carefully toward the end to ensure it doesn't burn.
  3. Remove from heat and cool.
  4. Use immediately or store in an airtight container for up to two weeks.

Notes

The balsamic glaze will continue to thicken as it cools. If it becomes too thick, you can reheat it with a little bit of additional water to think it back out.
