DIY Origami Paper Lantern String Lights
A classic paper water bomb pulls double duty as Chinese paper lanterns for these DIY origami paper lantern string lights. These colorful paper lanterns with lights are perfect for Chinese New Year festivities — along with indoor and outdoor parties year round!

- 19 sheets 12"x12" scrapbook paper or origami paper
- 1 (100-count) mini white string light set
- small piece scotch tape
Instructions
- Using this origami cube tutorial, fold 19 sheets of scrapbook paper into Chinese water bombs, using a bone folder tool or a butter knife for sharp creases. Blow into the open end of each to expand them.
- Unwind the light strand and stretch it out. Insert every fifth bulb into the open end of a water bomb cube. Use a piece of transparent scotch tape to attach the paper lantern to the light strand. Repeat for the remaining lights.
- Hang your paper lantern string lights and plug them in. Small removable hooks are ideal for damage-free hanging.
