This simple and easy basketball treat bags craft is the perfect addition to any basketball-themed party!
This craft idea was created in partnership with Angie’s BOOMCHICKAPOP®, popcorn and kettle corn featuring delicious flavors with simple ingredients from a founder who cares about creating great tasting, better-for-you snacks. Thanks for supporting us and the brands we love!
While I enjoy watching a good basketball game, I’m not ashamed to admit that playing basketball is NOT my thing. I did play one season in eighth grade, and to say I wasn’t very good is an understatement… My mom still jokes that I was the girl on the court fixing her hair before shooting a free throw (which I missed nine times out of ten). I guess it was only natural that I transitioned to being a cheerleader the following year, LOL.
On the other hand, I excel at picking teams for my March Madness bracket! My step-dad and I used to have a friendly bet over certain household chores every year, and I always earned a nice break from dishes and such for the month of April.
I’m also pretty darn good at whipping up game day snacks to eat while watching basketball… A few of our faves are this pizza dip recipe, this buffalo chicken dip, and this cheeseburger con queso. These crescent pizza rolls are always a huge hit, too. A girl’s gotta know her strengths!
Easy Basketball Treat Bags
But sometimes you just need something a little less fussy, you know? Like for those first round Thursday night games… And popcorn always fits the bill. Especially when you serve it up in these adorable basketball treat bags!
I know, I probably shouldn’t use “adorable” and “basketball” in the same sentence, but my kids thought they were the coolest thing ever. AND they literally took three minutes to make. I ordered these food safe orange paper bags, drew on a few lines with a black Sharpie to make them look like a basketball, and voila — basketball treat bags in a flash!
TIP: Use a small bowl as a template for the curves and you’re gold.
Simple Snacks for A March Madness Party
Speaking of less fussy, we also skipped the homemade popcorn in favor of several varieties of Angie’s BOOMCHICKAPOP. I first discovered it several years ago, and the Sweet & Salty Kettle Corn is still a weakness of mine… Although, I’m equally happy to chow down on the Sweet & Spicy, Caramel & Cheddar and Sweet Barbeque.
Actually, there’s not a bad flavor in the bunch! My kids bought me a bag of the limited edition Angie’s BOOMCHICKAPOP Sugar Cookie variety for Christmas (they know me so well), and it was absolutely to. die. for. You better believe I hid in the laundry room to eat that stuff so I didn’t have to share… Surely I’m not the only one who does this?!
Served up in one of these fun basketball favor bags, Angie’s BOOMCHICKAPOP is the perfect way to bring the BOOM! to your Game Day party!
