Typically I'm not big on semi-homemade recipes, and even when it comes to frozen drinks, we make them from scratch, juicing fresh limes and lemons for our frozen margaritas. However, my favorite strawberry daiquiri recipe calls for Bacardi Mixers Frozen Strawberry Daiquiri Mix. But don't think for a second that we just dump the mix in a blender with some rum and ice and call it a day...
Admittedly there's not a whole lot more to it, but it's those little extra touches that make this THE best strawberry daiquiri I've ever had - not too sweet, not too tart, and deliciously thick and creamy. And it's hands down the easiest to make!
You'll need the Bacardi Mix, a package of frozen strawberries, a banana, and a bottle of coconut rum. Malibu Coconut Rum is our liqueur of choice - the top shelf 24% alcohol version from the state store when we remember to buy during store hours. As for the banana, this is one of those occasions where I dip into my stash of frozen bananas (you know, for smoothies!) to add creaminess and take away some of the tartness that strawberries can have.
We mix up our drinks in our Margaritaville Frozen Concoction Maker (LOVE this thing!), but a regular blender will do.
If you want to serve up a pretty strawberry daiquiri, you can dip the rims of your glasses in water or rub the rim with a cut lemon or lime. Then dip the glass in regular granulated sugar for a decorative look. Of course you can also just skip this step because they taste delicious either way!

Best Ever Strawberry Daiquiris
Ingredients
- 1 can Bacardi Mixers Frozen Strawberry Daiquiri Mix
- 5 frozen strawberries
- ½ banana - frozen
- 10 ounces Malibu Coconut Rum - measured with Bacardi can
- 3 cups ice
Instructions
- Add Bacardi mix, frozen strawberries, and half of a frozen banana to your blender pitcher.
- Using the empty Bacardi mix can, measure out one can's worth (10 fl. oz.) of coconut rum and pour it in.
- Fill the pitcher up the rest of the way with ice and blend until smooth and creamy.
My neighbors are going to be thrilled that I posted this "recipe". They're always asking what our secret is - now you all know!

Oh my, can you tell this was one of the first recipes I ever wrote? I just use the can from the Bacardi Daiquiri Mix and pour it in there to measure it. I'll update the recipe to make it more clear!

Do you think it would make a difference (better or worse) to use fresh strawberrys instead of frozen??

Hi Christina! I don't think it should really make a difference either way as far as taste. Fresh strawberries may make it slightly thinner though, so you may need to add more ice to compensate.

My wife and I just got back from Vegas where we enjoyed several good strawberry daiquiris. I am now on a quest to find a great recipe. I'm very intrigued by this recipe although coconut and banana make me nervous. Are those flavors strong or real obvious in the finished product?

Oh, fun!!! No, I don't think either of the flavors are very strong. The banana really just serves to temper some of the tartness that strawberries have sometimes, and while I can definitely tell a difference when I use regular rum versus the coconut rum, I wouldn't say that it has an overpowering coconut flavor.
I will say that they can be a bit dangerous because they have a tendency to kind of "sneak up on you". They really don't taste alcoholic at all so they go down really easy, even though we mix them pretty strong!

I made this for a board game party with family and friends and it was the best drink I have ever made myself. Followed to the T and this will be my go to drink from now on. I would have never thought of this as my husband and I detest coconut. I asked him what he thought (before I bought the stuff) and he said he loves Malibu so I was off the the liquor store. Yum!
