Halloween Rice Krispies Treats // Not-So-Scary Ghosts

Halloween Rice Krispies Treats

When you need a homemade Halloween treat in a hurry, it just doesn't get any easier than these adorable little Halloween Rice Krispies Treats Ghosts... From start to finish they took just about 15 minutes (plus cooling time)!

Be sure to factor in a tad extra if you have little ones assisting you -- and believe me, they're going to be begging to help.

Halloween Rice Krispie Treats Ideas

While I adore a batch of fresh, chewy homemade Rice Krispies Treats, starting with Original Rice Krispies Treats Snack Bars makes this recipe a snap... (crackle, pop)! Okay, bad pun, but seriously, especially if you're trying to make these with your kiddos, store bought treats will save you loads of time.

I simply unwrapped the Rice Krispies Treats, rounded off one side of the rectangle by pressing the corners in with my fingers and then rolled them smooth on the table. Next I cut the bottom side off with a fluted round cookie cutter (similar on Walmart.com) just to give it a little more definition. Of course a glass or can would work well, too!

Finally, using a small offset spatula, I covered the whole shape with melted white chocolate. Top each little ghost off with two mini chocolate chip eyes, and then cool completely before serving. Sooooo simple and cute!

If you're looking to "healthify" your Halloween Rice Krispies Treats, try serving them with some whole, fresh mandarin oranges. The vibrant color just screams Halloween pairs beautifully with these little ghosts.

Halloween Rice Krispies Treats Ghosts

  • 16 Rice Krispies Treats Snack Bars
  • 12-oz. white chocolate melting wafers
  • 32 mini chocolate chips

  1. Start by melting your white chocolate candies using a double burner. Don’t have a double burner? Here’s an easy DIY way to create one.
  2. While the white chocolate is melting, begin shaping the ghosts. Unwrap 16 Rice Krispies Treats Snack Bars. Round off one side of the rectangle by pressing the corners in with your fingers and then roll them smooth on the table. Trim the opposite end using a fluted round cookie cutter or glass.
  3. When the white chocolate is melted, dip the backside of each ghost into the white chocolate and spread it out thinly using a small offset spatula. Lay the ghost chocolate side down on a non-stick mat or parchment paper. Spread more melted white chocolate on the top and around the sides of each ghost.
  4. Top each ghost off with two mini chocolate chips for eyes.
  5. Allow the white chocolate to cool thoroughly before serving. You can speed up the cooling process by placing them in the refrigerator for about five minutes.
